Jethro Tull "song for jeffrey" live video 70's

From their Heydays: it's the unique Jethro Tull. Wait "heydays" well considering that 'live is a long song' they still are in their heydays! The double LP Living in the past: another great favorite of mine. This is a very robust blues folk jazz song live on video. Great to watch !!

The band actually formed in 1982 in Libyan leader Muammar al-Qaddafi's rebel camp, but these desert warriors soon concentrated on their Malian homeland. As with their countrymen Ali Farka Toure and Boubacar Traoré, there is a direct line between Tinariwen's desert songs and the blues. Composed of six guitarists-vocalists, a percussionist, and three backup singers, the group plays hypnotic blues figures. When Robert Plant first heard this band perform he stated this was the music he was searching for his whole life!

Yes folks: this is music from blues' motherlode Africa once more!!

Absolute great music, Truffaz sounds like Miles Davis now and then, but created his own musical hemnisphere. Great band as well!!
This song is trumpet and OUD (Arabic guitar like instrument) that leads me to Morocco as the Provence as well. Great tune.

This cold, bare, fanatic, intense sound of David Eugene Edwards and his band... Sacred and: beware you sinners! Humble David Eugene with the bible as his weapon. Awsome!

The live dvd from Sixteen Horsepower shows their great class in songwriting and instrumentation. The king is dead, long live the king! (new king's name is Woven Hand)

The only music with banjo / country i knew up till then was a song from ANY GET YOUR GUN, the well known musical and Johny Cash of course.
I was struck by the intimacy and gentle, proud instrumentation combined with great vocals. Sunshine! My neighbour gave me the LP as a present instantly because of my reaction. I still treasure it..

Lee Clayton is so desperate, honest in his lyrics it's almost frightening.
Philip Donelly, his gitarist from Ireland, is a perfect 'translator' for Lee's feelings and thoughts with his outstanding guitar sound.

The Trammps "Disco Inferno"

At parties on highschool, students were either BLUES/ROCK fans or Disco/Soul fans. Me, dressed in "Rory Gallagher" shirt, levi's and Original Rockports shoes i did like those ( Philly and Motown) soul music although that was "not done". It was all Lynyrd Skynyrd, Rory, Pat Travers, Allman Bros, Muddy Waters etc.
We didn't dance but watched the girls shake their booty ;-), and acted cool of course.
